The kids' space
is always the
after thought.
Make it your
easiest scope.
You're designing the whole building. The kids' club, the playground, the podium play deck — small lines on your drawing, until they turn out to be the most regulated spaces in the project. We're the specialist who takes that scope off your desk, indoors and out: safety-led design, every asset you need, manufactured, installed and certified. You keep the client. We keep you protected.

A specialist on your team.
You don't need one more vendor sending you a PDF. You need the kids' scope to stop being a risk — resolved by people who design it, manufacture it, install it and put their name on the certificate. You keep the client and the wider design. We take the part that bites.
"It's only one
small room."
- 7–10 calls just to find one responsive flooring supplier — then repeat for play, shading and soft play
- Each supplier answers only for their own package; nobody coordinates the drawing
- Safety distances, fall heights and shading clearances get resolved on site, not on paper
- A beautiful render turns out unsafe, age-inappropriate or triple the budget
- A height threshold you didn't know about triggers a months-long design review
- You absorb the risk, the RFIs and the redesign — for the smallest room on the job
"One source.
One drawing."
- One coordinated package — flooring, play, shading, soft play, furniture, finishes
- CAD blocks, 3D models, spec sheets, schedules & BOQs delivered to your standards
- Safety-led review at concept — before a threshold costs you months
- Cost-realistic detailing — we tell you when a curve triples the price, and how to fake it
- Manufactured in our own factory, installed, inspected and certified to EN 1176
- We answer your RFIs. Your client sees one seamless design.
Everything yourpackage needs.
We work the way design practices work — concept, schematic, design development, IFC. Tap any deliverable to see exactly what you get, and how fast.
CAD blocks & drawings
2D CAD blocks for every item you specify — plan, elevation and section — drawn to real manufactured dimensions, not marketing sizes, with safety zones and clearances indicated so your layouts are compliant from the first draft. Supplied in your preferred format and layer convention.
Six detailsthat quietly wreck a scheme.
None of these are your fault — they're specialist knowledge from a corner of the industry you don't live in. We do live in it. Here's what we look for the moment we open your drawing.
The two-metre threshold
A climbing feature under the threshold may need only a short third-party inspection. Go over it — commonly around two metres — and you can trigger a full design review that runs for months. That decision is made in your drawing, long before anyone checks it. We flag the threshold at concept stage
Surfacing isn't flooring
Safety surfacing must be specified against the critical fall height of the highest accessible platform — not chosen for colour. Specified separately by a flooring contractor, it comes in too thin, fails inspection, and gets replaced at your client's cost and your programme's expense. We specify equipment and surfacing together
Shade that eats the playhouse
Shade fabric sags. Put a playhouse or climbing frame under the sag and the fabric rubs a hole in it, debris collects at the low point, and rain funnels straight onto the equipment until it's ruined. The rule: never place play structures beneath the sagging zone of a canopy. We coordinate shade height, sag & drainage
The curve that triples the price
Curved bespoke forms multiply fabrication complexity, waste, labour and install difficulty. The item comes back at several times the expected cost and gets value-engineered out — taking your concept with it. There's almost always a smarter way to hold the line. We show you how to keep the look for less
Right space, wrong age
Equipment sized for the wrong age group is unsafe at one end and ignored at the other. Challenge level, heights, furniture scale, motor-skill demand, sensory load and supervision needs all shift by age band — and a single room often has to serve more than one. We zone by age band before layout is fixed
Beautiful, but it doesn't work
Renders don't reveal blocked sightlines, no storage, punishing acoustics, unreachable maintenance access or zones children simply won't use. Functionality is the thing nobody notices until the space is open and the operator is unhappy. We pressure-test the layout against real use
Ten suppliers,
or one.
One playground can mean a flooring specialist, a play-equipment supplier, a shading contractor, a soft-play manufacturer, a furniture supplier, an installer and a certification body. Each answers only for their own package. The coordination — and the blame when it clashes — lands on you.

We answer them
We plug into your workflow.
We speak your stages, hit your deadlines and stay in the background. The earlier we're in, the more we can protect — but we can join at any point, including rescuing a children's scope that's already in trouble.
Concept — get us in early.
Send the layout or invite us to your studio. We mark up safety, age zoning and thresholds, bring samples and mood boards, and give you concept directions for the children's spaces. Free.
Schematic — the assets land.
CAD blocks, 3D models, spec and data sheets, finish ranges — accurate to what we actually manufacture, so your model and renders match reality.
Detail — priced & scheduled.
Finishes, furniture and play-equipment schedules, fit-out BOQ, and honest buildability advice on every bespoke detail before the client sees a number.
IFC — we answer the RFIs.
Issue-for-construction support, technical answers to the contractor, and compliance documentation prepared for the inspection route your design triggers.
Make & install.
Manufactured in our factory or procured globally, delivered, offloaded and installed by our own teams — factory-direct, so your client gets the price without the middleman.
Test, certify, warrant.
Safety testing, third-party inspection, EN 1176 / EIAC compliance, certificates and warranties — the closeout paperwork handed to you complete.
Every sector.Every kids' space in it.
Whatever your practice is working on, we've delivered the children's scope inside it — and that cross-sector view is exactly why we can bring a hospitality idea into a school, or a school's functionality into a residential tower.
Education
Nurseries, daycare, schools, special needs centres, after-school clubs, libraries — classrooms to labs, art and DT rooms, auditoriums.
Hospitality
Hotel kids' clubs, teen and tween clubs, games rooms, family bedrooms, restaurant play areas, beach and pool family zones.

Design responsibility splits differently in every firm, so we slot in wherever the kids' scope sits. FF&E and finishes designers get accurate specs, samples and schedules; layout and spatial designers get compliant blocks and safety zoning; architects get a specialist who resolves the regulated detail; project managers get one accountable package; and principals get a scope that stops eating fee and creating risk.

What design teams
say afterwards.
Designers, architects and consultants who handed us the children's scope — and got the fee, the programme and the compliance back.
“They marked up our concept in two days and caught a fall-height problem that would have failed inspection. CAD blocks, 3D, schedules — all of it arrived correct first time. The kids' club stopped being the scope we dreaded.”
“We were about to detail a climbing feature that would have triggered a full design review. They flagged the threshold at concept stage and offered an alternative that kept the intent. That single conversation saved months.”
“One contact instead of nine. They coordinated flooring, play, shading and soft play into one package, answered the contractor's RFIs directly and handed over the certificates. Our client never saw a seam.”
You do whatyou're great at.
We'll do ours.
Designers are brilliant at what they do. But children's spaces carry rules most practices never need to learn — fall heights, safety zones, age bands, inspection thresholds, what a shape actually costs to make. I've spent over a decade in that detail. My job isn't to replace your design; it's to make sure it can be built, certified and loved.
“I kept being called in after the drawings were signed off — a climbing wall over the threshold, surfacing at the wrong thickness, a bespoke curve nobody could afford to make. Every single time it was fixable at concept stage and expensive afterwards. So now I'd rather come to your studio for an afternoon, look at what you're working on, and stop it happening. It costs you nothing, and it saves us both a painful conversation later.”
The Kids' Space Design Checklist
The specialist checklist we run over every children's-space drawing: age bands and zoning, critical fall height against surfacing, safety zones and clearances, climbing thresholds and inspection routes, shade coordination, supervision sightlines, storage, acoustics, durability, certification and handover documents. Run it before your next issue.

A workshop in your studio.
Philip Moon comes to your office and runs a private session for your team — built around your live project work, not a generic slide deck. He reviews real layouts and specifications, shows you what he'd change and why, and leaves your team able to spot the traps themselves. Normally an AED 7,500 consulting engagement — complimentary, and limited to a few studios each month.
- Led by Philip Moon in person — founder and head of design, at your studio with your team.
- A live review of your actual work — bring current layouts and specs; he marks them up and shows you how to improve them.
- The traps, explained properly — fall heights, surfacing, safety zones, age banding, climbing thresholds, shade coordination.
- Cost & buildability masterclass — what detailing really costs, and how to keep the design intent for less.
- A specification pack for the practice — CAD blocks, 3D models, spec sheets, samples and the checklist.
