NOT ALL PADDING IS THE SAME
Thickness and density areuse-case decisions.
A climbing-wall fall zone, a general playroom and a jiu-jitsu hall all need padding — but not the same padding. Specify it wrong and you either overspend or leave a real gap in protection.
Thickness matched to fall height
From 2.5cm general play mats up to 20cm directly under climbing walls and high equipment — matched to the actual fall height, not one blanket spec.

Foam density is tuned to the impact: standard play, or higher-absorption layered foam for jiu-jitsu, wrestling and other contact sports.

Aluminium window mullions
Hard, narrow 90° impact points that standard corner guards don't fit. We measure the exact profile and manufacture bespoke protection.
Wall nibs & odd returns
Short protruding wall sections are easy to miss on a generic quote — and easy for a running child to hit.
Villa staircases & balustrades
Wide gaps or ornate, sharp railings in villa-converted nurseries — a child can put an arm through, or fall through. Common, and commonly missed.
Stair undersides & mezzanine backs
Exposed, sharp stair backs on mezzanine play floors are a head-height hazard for anyone walking underneath.
Outdoor posts near the action
Light posts and shade posts on the edge of a football pitch get forgotten — until sports day, when nobody's watching where they're running.

ADEC, KHDA, SPIA, Municipality and Civil Defence expect every exposed 90-degree corner and hard surface near children or play equipment to be padded and protected. It's checked at inspection, and facilities without it are typically told to install it before they can pass.
Ready-made products such as standard 100cm × 100cm mats are quick to buy but rarely fit a room exactly, leaving gaps near walls, columns and corners — and gaps are where injuries happen. Made-to-measure padding is manufactured and installed to the exact site dimensions, fitting from skirting to skirting with no gaps.
It depends on the fall height and activity. General play areas may only need thin mats, while the safety zone directly under a climbing wall or high equipment may need up to 20cm of padding. Foam density is separately adjusted for impact sports such as jiu-jitsu or wrestling. We specify both together during a site assessment.

Yes. Padding is the product Moon Kids was founded on in 2011, made in our own 30,000 sqft Abu Dhabi factory. Some stock items such as jigsaw mats and standard corner guards are sourced and then professionally fitted.
It varies by product, material, size and finish — stock corner guards start from around AED 40, while a full made-to-measure room solution is quoted after a site visit and measurement. We offer free delivery and installation within Dubai and Abu Dhabi city limits on most orders. Because we manufacture our own range, we can match different materials and systems to different budgets without cutting the safety spec.
Yes. Shade posts, parking posts, light posts and structural columns near pitches or playgrounds are protected using a separate UV-protected, weatherproof canvas system designed for outdoor exposure — never indoor fabric used outdoors.
Timelines depend on scope, but our own manufacturing means stock items and many made-to-measure products move faster than a fragmented supply chain. We recommend a site assessment as early as possible rather than waiting until an inspection is already booked.
