Le Méridien Hotel is located near Khor Al Maqta, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

What were we hired to do?
Le Méridien hired Moon Kids to design, build and install a fully shaded outdoor kids play area in the hotel’s garden courtyard. The centre piece is a bespoke two-story timber castle playhouse with a crenellated parapet, glazed windows and a covered den below, reached by a stepped climbing ladder and a climbing wall fitted with colourful holds, with a wide slide running down to soft green rubber safety tiles. Alongside it we built a set of role-play units — a wooden play truck with wheels, a serving hatch and a chalkboard panel, a driver’s cabin with a steering wheel and internal stairs, and an outdoor mud kitchen with twin chalkboards, sinks, hob rings and closed storage. The whole area is enclosed by custom picket fencing with lockable gates, with padded protection sleeves fitted to the existing pergola columns and natural log seating around the edges, all in weather-treated timber built for the UAE climate.
